Universal Children’s Day
Universal children’s day is celebrated on 20th November every year in the whole world. It was established by United Nations in 1954.
“Children are like wet cement, whatever falls on them makes an impression”
Objectives
The Universal Children’s Day is a special day to promote the welfare of children and an understanding between children all around the world. United Nations established that day to encourage all countries to promote mutual exchange and understanding among children and to initiate action to benefit and promote the welfare of the world’s children.
Universal Children’s Day is not simply a day to celebrate children for who they are, but also to bring awareness to children around the world that have face to violence in forms of abuses, discrimination and exploitation. As we know that most of the children are use as labourers in many countries. One of the objective of that day is to eradicate child labourer from the world.
“Every child is a different kind of flower and altogether make this world a beautiful garden”
Universal Children’s Day Celebrations
This day is not a public holiday but has a global observance. This day is celebrated with great interest in the whole world. Many functions, celebrations and events are arranged in school to promote that day. In our society, schools and institutions play a vital role in promoting these days. In some areas UN holds events to draw particular attention to children’s rights. In schools, teachers stimulate their pupils to think about the differences between themselves and others and explain the idea of rights.
